WHERE THERE'S A WILL THERE'S A WAY

If you choose to remember The Fund in your will, you may wish to consider one of the following options:

Pecuniary Bequest

This is a gift in the form of a set amount of money, which is written into your will.

Residuary Bequest

After all other bequests in your will have been made, and any debts that you leave have been cleared, the remainder of your estate can be left to the FFFC.

Specific Bequest

This allows you to bequeath a particular item to the FFFC, for example, an item of jewellery, a car etc.

Contingent Bequest

This kind of bequest is dependent upon an event taking place that may or may not happen: For example, a bequest to The Fund that would only apply if other beneficiaries in the will died before the person who has made the will.

 

At present approximately 70% of the UK population are known to support a charity in some way. However in stark contrast to this figure, less than 5% of people remember a charity in their wills.

Making a will means that you can be confident that, after your death your wishes will be carried out. You may not think you have a lot to leave, but your home, possessions and other assets, no matter the size, can make a significant difference to your friends, families and to the good causes that you may have helped throughout your life.

If You Do Not Have a Will

Making a will is a very easy and is usually done via a solicitor who will be able to guide you through the process and assist you in preparing and writing your will in accordance to your wishes. If you do not have a solicitor, your local Citizen's Advice Bureau or Yellow Pages will help you to find one.

Changing Your Will

If, like many people, you already have a will and would like to amend it to help out the Foresters' Fund for Children, again your solicitor will be able to make the necessary changes it by including a codicil.
